The Laker men's lacrosse team will continue their yearly tradition of shaving their head to raise money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a non-profit organization that raises funds to find cures for childhood cancer.
Since 2007, the Oswego State men's lacrosse team has raised money for the St. Baldrick's Foundation. Last year, for the second year in a row, they surpassed $10,000, which pushed them over the $100,000 threshold for overall support.
On Feb. 15, men's lacrosse will host Lakers vs. Childhood Cancer in the Marano Campus Center's food and activity court starting at 1 p.m. The Lakers set a goal of $15,000, and welcome donations and event registration via this link.
All are welcome to attend and cheer on those getting their heads shaved for the cause.
Recently, assistant coach Dan Witmer and player Matt Rudolph and Logan Linn sat down with NewsChannel 9's "Bridge Street" to talk about the origins of the fundraising and the impact it has had on the Lakers as well as the community.
