Penfield Library and Faculty Research Council have teamed up to host a Faculty Research Exchange at 3 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 29, in Penfield 215.

The event is expected to be a thought-provoking 90 minutes with SUNY Oswego faculty members Erik Wade and Daniel Baldassarre as they share highlights and insights into their respective research activities. All members of the campus community are invited and encouraged to attend.

Erik Wade is an assistant professor of medieval literature in the Department of English and Creative Writing. He received his Ph.D. from Rutgers University and taught at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn in Germany before coming to SUNY Oswego. He researches the global origins of medieval European ideas about race and sexuality. He is co-authoring a book with Dr. Mary Rambaran-Olm entitled "Race in Early Medieval England," under contract with Cambridge University Press, and is also working on a solo monograph entitled "Lust in Translation: Sexuality, Race and National Identity in Early Medieval English Literature."

Daniel Baldassarre is an assistant professor and Provost Teaching Fellow in the Department of Biological Sciences, where he teaches classes on bird biology, evolution and animal behavior. With a team of undergraduate researchers, he studies the behavioral ecology of Northern Cardinals and plumage coloration of various species. He also operates Rice Creek Bird Observatory, a bird banding station at Rice Creek Field Station.
