Below are the deadlines and descriptions for several internal funding opportunities available during spring semester.

Shineman Endowed Fund @ SUNY Oswego
Deadlines: Letter of Intent due Feb. 15, 2022/Invited Full Applications due March 15, 2022

The college’s Richard S. and Barbara P. Shineman Endowed Fund Stewardship Committee is now accepting proposals for grants to support educational and cultural opportunities conceived by campus members. The amount of the awards will depend upon the scope of the project. Small Grants will be awarded for projects requesting $4,999 or less, and projects requesting $5,000 or more will be considered Large Grants.

Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activity Grant
Deadline: Monday, Feb. 21, 2022

The Faculty Scholarly and Creative Activity Grant is designed to provide support (up to $3,000) for faculty and staff in the development of their scholarly and creative activity (SCA) programs to be more competitive in their field (i.e., enhancing the possibility of procuring external grants/contracts). Projects that are expected to result in peer-reviewed output, significant public activities/presentations, and/or to have a significant impact on local/campus or national/international community will receive priority.

Student Scholarly and Creative Activity Grant
Deadline: Monday, Feb. 21, 2022

The Graduate and Undergraduate Student Scholarly and Creative Activity Grant (Student SCA) program is designed to support (up to $1,000) and foster graduate and undergraduate student research and original creative work conducted in collaboration with a SUNY Oswego faculty sponsor. Please note: any Student SCA proposal that meets the criteria for the Helen Bohmer Daly Memorial Research Grant will also be considered for more specialized grant offerings.

Faculty-Student Challenge Grant
Deadline: Monday, Feb. 21, 2022

The purpose of the Challenge Grant program is to promote and support (up to $4,500) student/faculty summer scholarly collaborations that ultimately lead to publications, presentations, performances, and/or external grant applications. It is the goal of the program to assist faculty in providing motivated students with high-level scholarly and creative experiences. Successful applicants will be engaged in an ongoing project with one or more students who participate in a direct and meaningful way in faculty scholarly and creative activities.

Curriculum Innovation Grant
Deadline: Monday, March 7, 2022

This program supports the creation of new courses or significant transformations of existing courses to improve the student learning experience. Proposals should address how course innovations serve to enhance the overall quality of curricula, expand student knowledge and skills, support the needs of our increasingly diverse student population, or implement other strategic initiatives, while embedding evidence-based learning practices.
