An ongoing sale of water bottles, a chance to win a 43-inch Smart TV and an opportunity to win Oswego apparel are supporting an Alternative Spring Break trip and project to make fresh water available to residents in Puerto Rico still rebuilding from hurricanes in 2017.

Thirteen students and two staff continue to fundraise to support the Grand Challenge: Fresh Water For All initiative. As part of the Puerto Rico Alternative Break Winter 2019 program, the group will travel to Puerto Rico and work with Proyecto Agua Limpia to purchase and distribute Kohler water filters and cartridges to families in need of water filtration. The group's goal is to buy water filters for approximately 120 families residing in one of the many municipalities in need of water filtration that have community-owned water systems.

As part of the fundraising efforts, heavy-duty water bottles are still for sale online and at a table outside The Point from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today (Dec. 6). Each water bottle will be sold for $10. Donations are also accepted.

Along with the sale of water bottles, the group is raffling off a 43 inch Smart TV at $2 for one chance or $5 for three chances. as well as SUNY Whiteout Weekend hockey apparel, valued at $125, for $1 per chance.
