Students are welcome to attend virtual QPR training from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m on Wednesday, April 24. QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer, and is a program designed to educate people on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and to help prevent it.

It is a free training that helps participants become more aware of the signs and symptoms of suicide risk, enabling them to identify when someone may be in distress. Therefore, the training can be beneficial for professionals working in fields where they may encounter individuals at risk of suicide, such as healthcare, education and social services. It enhances their ability to fulfill their duty of care to those they serve. All students are welcome to apply and no registration is necessary.

Those interested can access this Zoom link for the training.

The departments of Human Development and Health Promotion and Wellness coordinate this training.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Dr. Mamta Saxena at mamta.saxena@oswego.edu.
