The City of Oswego will conduct its 9th annual Code Enforcement Blitz from May 5 to 19.

As the community transitions into summer, the city is making an effort to ensure that tenants do not leave behind garbage, debris or furniture. The community-campus partnership is one appreciated by both parties, so leaving Oswego in good condition for the upcoming summer season is welcomed by all.

To assist with this process, City Director of Code Enforcement Michael D. Cleary II kindly asks that there be no stockpiling of garbage, debris or furniture in front yards. If such items are left outside, students will be required to bring them back inside or discard them within a short timeframe.

Failure to comply will result in the tenants being fined, as well as the city sending a contractor to remove the items, and the associated cleanup and administrative fees will be charged to the landlord. This could impact security deposit returns or lead to other civil matters.

The City of Oswego appreciates the cooperation of SUNY Oswego students in keeping the community clean and orderly. They appreciate students' attention to this matter and hope everybody has a wonderful summer.
