The campus community is invited to celebrate National Rec Day with Campus Recreation and Fitness Centers today, Friday, Feb. 22.

Activities include:

* Warming up with Campus Rec in Marano Campus Center at 12:30 p.m. by grabbing a free reusable travel mug filled with hot chocolate. 

* Happening in Lee Hall:

  • Open recreation basketball from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. 
  • Open racquetball from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. All equipment is provided at the front desk.
  • Want to be active without running? Wii Fit takes place 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
  • Swimming at the Lee Hall Pool is open from 4:30 to 10 p.m.
  • Chance to win a championship shirt by competing in a Knockout contest at 4 p.m. in Lee Gym court 1.

* In Swetman Gym:

  • Open recreation basketball from 3 to 8 p.m. 
  • Open recreation badminton runs 3 to 4 p.m. All equipment is provided.

* Both fitness centers, Cooper and Glimmerglass, are having a free gym day where no gym membership is needed from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Take part in the fitness challenges offered by both gyms throughout the day for a chance to win a $25 gift card. 

* Join a free cycling class from 2 to 3 p.m. in Cooper Fitness Center.

* A cross-campus activity offers an opportunity to enter to win a $50 gift card at Lee Hall, Swetman Gym, Cooper and Glimerglass front desks.

* The campus community is invited to post a photo showing "how you rec" with #OzRec #HowDoYouRec for a chance to win a $25 gift card for having the best photo.

This day was created to focus on the positive benefits of recreational sports, fitness activities and wellness programs for Americans of all ages. It also represents the founding day of the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association.
