The SUNY Office of Sustainability has launched the first-ever system-wide Student Sustainability Awards, with applications open through Nov. 14.
This program not only provides students with a small scholarship for the work they have done to advance sustainability on their campus, but also rewards them with a micro-grant to create an event, activity, or program that gets other students involved.
Prizes will be awarded in five categories. First place and runner-up will be decided in each category, bringing the total number of awards up to 10. First-place awardees will be granted a $500 scholarship and $500 to get other students involved. Runners-up will receive $250 each. The five categories are:
- Arts and Communication Award
- Footprint Award
- Research Award
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship Award
- Environmental Justice Award
