A panel of distinguished alumni will discuss "Building Communities Through Entrepreneurship" for the School of Business Alumni Symposium from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, in 315 Park Hall.

Panelists will include 1985 alumnus Bob Moritz, global chairman of PwC; 1976/2001 alumna Phyllis Moore Holloway, a businessowner, longtime educator and non-profit leader; and 2007 alumnus Jeff Knauss, co-founder of the Digital Hyve marketing agency.

Pam Caraccioli, SUNY Oswego's deputy to the president for external partnerships, will moderate the presentation. School of Business faculty member Sarah Bonzo will serve as host for the event.

For PwC, which spans 157 countries and includes more than 250,000 people, Moritz leads the international network’s leadership teams, champions diversity and inclusion, sets strategy and enhances the brand through quality service to our stakeholders. Prior to taking on the global role, Moritz led the U.S. firm of PwC as its chairman and senior partner for seven years. He recently completed two terms as the chairman of the Governing Board for the Center for Audit Quality, a national non-partisan and non-profit group.

Holloway worked for the Syracuse City School District for more 35 years as a classroom teacher and later an assistant principal before her July 2014 retirement. In July 2015, she accepted a position as interim executive director of the struggling Dunbar Association, without compensation, bringing her skills, energy, dedication and integrity to help Dunbar remain open. In June 2019, Holloway became proud owner of Syracuse restaurant Joe’s to Go, which also trains and hires people from the community to work at the eatery.

Under Knauss' leadership, Digital Hyve earned national acclaim among the fastest private growing companies in the U.S by Inc. Magazine for four years in a row, including at one point among the top-5 fastest growing marketing and advertising companies in the nation. In 2021, Knauss sold Digital Hyve to large ad agency Butler Till, which resulted in their 56 employees becoming employee-owners. He also invests in seven other businesses through his company HML Holdings, including the XO Taco restaurant in Syracuse.

The panel presentation is free and open to the public.
