Seven students will represent SUNY Oswego at the upcoming Central New York Career Development Association "CNY Internship Showcase" at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at SUNY Oswego's Syracuse campus.

In all, 20 students were competitively selected to present about their internship experiences and will represent six institutions, vying for the opportunity to win a $500 judge-based prize and a $200 Audience Choice Award.

Students representing SUNY Oswego include Keara Baiocco (senior, human resources management), Charles Christ (senior, cognitive science), Raina Domuracki-Galante (senior, psychology), Shane Francis (senior, information science), Mariama Kante (junior, accounting), John Osterhoudt (senior, history) and Nirdishtha Sapkota (sophomore, journalism and graphic design).

The event will also feature SUNY Oswego 2015 alumna Molly Matott, meteorologist for CNY Central in Syracuse. Matott will kick off the event with a keynote presentation discussing the importance of experiential learning opportunities during a student's college career.

The CNY Internship Showcase was planned and implemented by the CNYCDA Events Committee staffed by Tina Cooper (chair, from the SUNY Oswego EXCEL Office) and Cheryl Rotyliano (member, from Ithaca College Career Services) and supported by affiliate institutions. This event was designed to highlight the meaningful internship experiences of local students through a structured competition and networking lunch program.

Staff, faculty, students, and alumni are encouraged to attend this event to support the SUNY Oswego students presenting, as the Audience Choice Award relies on viewer participation.

To attend, RSVP online by Nov. 5.
