This spring marks 50 years since David Cutler ’74 and other members of the Class of 1974 graduated from SUNY Oswego. In recognition of this historic milestone, Cutler has issued a challenge to his classmates.

“If members of the Class of 1974 collectively give $50,000 to The Fund for Oswego by June 30, 2024, I will match it with an additional $50,000 and establish a special Class of 1974 Scholarship,” Cutler said.

He said he hopes to inspire his classmates to consider the role that the university has played in shaping their careers and lives.

“As we approach our 50th class reunion, I can't help but reflect on the incredible memories, friendships and experiences we’ve shared and the impact that they’ve made on our lives,” said Cutler, who graduated with a social sciences degree and went on to found the Arapahoe Community Treatment Center in Englewood, Colo., which served the community for decades before he sold the center in 2017.

“Now, as we come together to celebrate this remarkable milestone, we have an opportunity to give back to the institution that played such a pivotal role in our personal and intellectual growth,” he said.

The 50th class often attracts the highest number of alumni attendees at the annual Reunion Weekend, which this year will be held June 6 to 9 in Oswego.

Based on feedback from a survey of alumni, the Reunion Engagement and Philanthropy Committee has re-envisioned some of the all-alumni events throughout the weekend, including for the 50th class.
