Penfield Library is once again sponsoring “Food for Fines” which allows you to pay for overdue books and unpaid fines with food donations. These donations will be accepted November 1 – 22, 2017 at the Check-Out & Reserves Desk and given to the Human Concerns Food Pantry in Oswego. Each food item will cancel $1.00 or less in fees.

"We are happy to provide this service as it serves two goals," said Dr. Ray Morrison, Coordinator of Access Services. "It allows students to clear their library obligations with something other than money, plus it provides food for those in need here in the community."

Only pre-packaged, unopened food in cans, boxes or plastic jars with be accepted; no glass, perishables, or damaged/expired items. If faculty or staff members would also like to contribute food, it would be appreciated. For further information, ask at the Check-Out & Reserves Desk or email us at cirdesk@oswego.edu. Let’s help make this a Happy Thanksgiving for the hungry here in Oswego.
