Complimentary Teaching Support for Cooperating Teachers

These are individuals (school-based or community-based persons) who work with students/candidates in the School of Education during a field experience, practicum, internship and/or student teaching experience.

ID Card: A complimentary School of Education cooperating teacher and clinical faculty ID card will be provided. Cooperating teachers and clinical faculty may request these cards in person during regular business hours at the ID and Meal Plan Office, 503 Culkin Hall. Call 315.312.2588 for hours. The benefits available with the SUNY Oswego ID Card are listed below.

Parking: Cooperating teachers and clinical faculty, with the above ID card, may obtain a parking permit by visiting the SUNY Oswego Parking Office at Pathfinder Hall. Visit the Parking Office page for further information.

Privileges at Penfield Library: Cooperating teachers and clinical faculty who present this valid ID card when requesting library services will be provided with community privileges at Penfield Library. Visit Penfield's library privileges and services page for more information.

Recreational facilities: Year-round use of recreational facilities, including pool and gym, free of charge with ID card.

Fitness centers: Free use of the Cooper Fitness Center including group exercise classes during the summer with ID card.

For student teaching hosts only:

The Board of Trustees of the State University of New York authorizes each SUNY college to issue either a $200 stipend or a $250 tuition waiver to each cooperating teacher for the quarter in which he/she is assigned a student teacher. The process that is followed is one that has been established by SUNY System Administration, not SUNY Oswego.
