Tyler Rehearsal Room

Since Tyler Hall reopened in 2016, it has received national recognition on multiple occasions. Shortly after achieving the LEED Gold Standard, Tyler was featured in the magazine Architects in March of 2018. Architect is a nationally syndicated publication and the official magazine of the Association of International Architects. The article highlighted several aspects of the arts building, relating to both the performing and visual arts. Rather than being demolished and replaced, Tyler’s construction started with the interior and the process was divided into multiple phases. Phase I included a new lobby, photography, graphic design and music rooms. The music department’s rehearsal hall is located in the basement, but features large windows on the first floor, allowing passerby to take in performances from above. Large windows are featured along the entire face of the first floor as well, vastly increasing the amount of natural light.
