Technology Initiative Project (TIP) Applications Due October 12

Annual funding is provided by Campus Technology Services to support academic technology initiatives that relate to instruction, student usage, improving student usage, and/or improving student learning through the use of technology.  It is intended to further encourage the implementation of SUNY Oswego's strategic plan and help build and support The Digital Campus.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to submit a TIP application by 4:30pm, Friday, October 12.  Priority will be given to:

  • Collaborative and multidisciplinary submissions

  • Student-centered submissions which touch a large number of instructors or students

  • New, innovative and/or trial initiatives

  • Initiatives with clear assessment criteria and reasonable succession plan Equipment replacement and expansion of existing equipment will also be considered

Awards will be announced by December and purchasing of equipment and/or software will be done throughout the spring semester.

Past TIP grants have helped support virtual reality initiatives, makerspaces, health and wellness research, Adobe creative cloud licensing, and student broadcasting.  Film Studies was awarded a grant last year to fund a high-end film scanner to teach students about digital production which helps them prepare for industry demands.
