Adobe Flash Player Retirement

Adobe has decided to end the development of Flash Player due to other, more popular and secure technologies taking its place. Because of this, Adobe will no longer be supporting Flash Player after Dec. 31, 2020 and is encouraging anyone still using the player to uninstall it. For security reasons, Adobe will block Flash Player content from playing beginning Jan. 12, 2021.

To align with Adobe’s end of Flash Player, web browsers including Chrome, FireFox and Safari will also no longer support it.

Campus Technology Services (CTS) has not been including the Flash Player in default computer installations for a couple of years. However, if you have an older computer or if you have installed it on your own, you may review Adobe’s instructions for Windows and Mac on how to uninstall it. Adobe has also posted more detailed information on their Adobe Flash Player EOL General Information Page.
