ITC Report (Theresa)

  • Met yesterday, we do have a lot on our agenda for this year.  Discussion of online changes in development, changes of the Instructional Designer class preparation process.  Faculty will no longer have to work with an instructional designer while creating online courses.

  • Updated regulation on Regular and Substantive policy

  • Short update on digital learning environment.  Looking for pilot volunteers.

TIP Grants Fall 2021

  • Announcement went out yesterday.  This year there will be only one round.  Deadline is October 29th at 4:30pm.  Will be looking at the same priorities as last year.

CTS Report

  • Lots of administrative application support, we will have Eric Goodnough talk at the next meeting about these projects. A new project is Financial Aid, which we think will be operational by the end of the calendar year.

  • Student evaluations, we will have a new tool.  Moving it from the ad hoc way and moving it to AEFIS.  Putting a plan together and moving that tool which will be part of our assessment.  We are considering implementing a small pilot in December.

  • Office moves for a number of departments.  ORSP is moving to Sheldon in the coming week.  Lots of preparation and work with the moves.

  • Nicole has been looking into how we start planning Faculty Computer Replacements.  We have pre-ordered some equipment, since  it is currently taking a few months for delivery. The VAP announcement will be coming out shortly.

Projects

  • SUNY Oswego Cybersecurity update (Mike Pisa)

    • Sean - Would like to thank Mike for stepping in and working on security

  • Digital learning environment announcement and update (Kathi Dutton)

    • Leigh - Are adjuncts teaching in the summer allowed to have sandboxes?  Theresa - Yes, they are.  Will be creating short videos to help support people as we learn more about the new environment.

    • Kathi - Our campus Learning Management System team will be importing BB courses into D2L

    • Sean - SUNY is looking at this as a way to unify the environment that we teach in. They are looking for us to have a common set of tools. We are lucky that we have an outstanding team working on this with lots of experience. We will be able to navigate the move and be stronger in the end..

    • Kathi elaborated more on the tools that we currently have and we will be able to continue to use those tools.  Will be able to continue to use Panopto

    • Let Kathi or Theresa know if you would like to participate in the pilot.

    • No timeline yet for sandbox accounts.
