While SUNY Oswego officials are hard at work developing and vetting several possible plans for the fall 2020 semester, the college is also looking to the summer and strategizing on how it might assist new, incoming students with getting integrated into the SUNY Oswego academic community.  Today, SUNY Oswego announced that it will be offering its first year students the opportunity to take a free online, credit-bearing course this summer.

New students (freshmen and transfers) who enroll at SUNY Oswego and deposit by June 1 for the fall 2020 semester are invited to take advantage of a free online Summer Session course for credit.  The free summer course is also available to all new students who previously deposited to attend SUNY Oswego this fall.

“We're thrilled to offer this opportunity to new students who want to start this summer,” said SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley. “The courses being offered are part of our typical summer offerings and allow our incoming students to engage with fellow SUNY Oswego students, earn college credits and get acclimated to college level coursework prior to the start of their fall semester.”

New students were emailed this offer today and directed to the Jump Start Your Summer webpage [https://www.oswego.edu/admissions/jump-start].  Students who make their deposit by June 1 will be contacted by an academic advisor to enroll them in the fall 2020 semester and discuss their interest in registering for a free online summer course.
