The Oswego County Counselors Association in conjunction with SUNY Oswego will host College and Career Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, in the Marano Campus Center.

High schoolers and families attending can learn about potential paths that include college, the workforce and the military.

At least 60 colleges and universities are expected to be in attendance at what had previously been an annual College Night. New this year will be at least 14 Central New York organizations and corporations with representatives available to speak to students and their families.

“We're delighted to continue collaborating with the Oswego County Counselors Association to offer this evening event for the community,” said Daniel Griffin, director of admissions at SUNY Oswego. “The addition of career opportunities along with higher education options we hope makes the program all the more informative and beneficial.”

“Adding the career component to the college fair this year is a way to reach students of all ages and future goals,” said Lisa Roman, school counselor at Oswego High School. “We know that there are many viable possibilities and career paths that students may choose. This collaboration is our way to recognize this and help students find their own path.”

Those interested in learning more about the college admissions process can attend a 5:45 p.m. presentation on this topic. A financial aid expert will also be on hand to consult with families.
