SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Field Station will welcome Girl Scouts from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, for an activity-filled and fun afternoon.

"We are pleased to once again make this connection between Girls Scout troops and SUNY Oswego," said Diann Jackson of Rice Creek. "The day's activities are designed to build skills and develop a deep appreciation for nature."

The special event is a partnership among the Girl Scouts of NYPENN, Rice Creek Field Station and Alpha Phi Omega service organization.

The Girl Scouts will hike the trails and learn about the animals that inhabit Rice Creek's 400 acres of mixed terrain. Alpha Phi Omega members and Rice Creek staff will lead several activities that will help girls earn their badges.

Troops or individual girls and their adult mentors, as well as their family and friends, may register now for this event. Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette and Senior levels are encouraged to attend. Those who come early are welcome to picnic in Rice Creek's pavilion.
