A welcome reception for the Leadership Oswego County class of 2017 will take place from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, in Room 118 of SUNY Oswego’s Rich Hall. The reception—open to program alumni, employers and interested community members—will offer light refreshments.

“Our Leadership Reception Ceremony is a long-standing tradition and a great way for classmates to meet one another and for our Leadership Oswego County alumni, community and business members to meet our future class of 2017,” said Chena Tucker, associate director of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, which leads the program. “As an alum myself, I am thrilled to be part of the Leadership Oswego County facilitation team, and to contribute to and continue to build upon the mission and vision of our program.”

Leadership Oswego County annually prepares a select group of county residents to become future community leaders. The program teaches community trusteeship and leadership skills, resulting in a knowledgeable, diverse network of leaders committed to improving the quality of life for Oswego County residents.

“This reception kicks off our nine-month Leadership Oswego County program. Our hope is that at the end of our journey, each and every one of our participants will leave knowing they can make a difference in the lives of those within our community,” Tucker said.
