Mozart’s Coronation Mass will serve as the heart of a free College-Community Orchestra and Festival Chorus performance at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 1, in SUNY Oswego’s Sheldon Hall ballroom.

The orchestra, under the direction of SUNY Oswego music faculty member Juan La Manna, will offer pieces by contemporary composers Mike McFerron and Astor Piazzolla, then join the chorus for Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Ave Verum Corpus, K. 618” and “Mass No. 15 in C Major, K. 317,” nicknamed the Coronation Mass. Mihoko Tsutsumi, director of choral activities for the college, conducts the Festival Chorus. Distinguished area soloists will perform as well.

The concert is part of Cruisin’ the Campus during spring break for area school districts, an opportunity for children and adults alike to sample many entertainment, recreation and educational events offered at or through SUNY Oswego. See oswego.edu/calendar for more details.

The College-Community Orchestra and Festival Chorus integrate the talents of Oswego students and residents. For more information, contact the music department at 315-312-2130.
