Leadership Oswego County (LOC), an annual leadership development program administered by SUNY Oswego's Office of Business and Community Relations, invites its alumni to an event from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at three downtown Oswego restaurants.

The night will kick off at Azteca Mexican Grill on East Bridge Street, then make its way to East First Street to The Press Box, and cap off the night across the street at GS Steamers.

"'Leadership Oswego County Alumni Lighting the Way to a Better Tomorrow' is our theme this year,” said Chena Tucker, the college's director of business and community relations. “Our Leadership alumni are a valuable resource to our community and we would like to provide more opportunities for engagement."

In partnership with the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and area businesses, the alumni event aims "to highlight the great things happening within our community -- including many initiatives led by graduates of LOC -- and to add momentum," Tucker said. "We are hoping this event will create a casual, social gathering opportunity while supporting, promoting and creating a vibrant downtown."

Leadership Oswego County annually prepares a select group of county residents to become the community stewards of the future. The group embarks on a nine-month course on Oswego County and its resources, vital issues of today and visioning for tomorrow.

"Graduates of our program are better prepared to serve the community in various ways ranging from being engaged employees to board members serving on non-profits or volunteering within organizations that serve Central New York," Tucker said.

To register for the Nov. 20 event, visit the chamber of commerce's calendar page, oswegofultonchamber.com/events. Space is limited, so alumni are urged register early. Attendees must be 21 years or older to participate. The $25 ticket price includes appetizers and tastings at each location and a T-shirt.
