Center for Urban Schools

The SUNY Oswego Center for Urban Schools has operated since 2000 has served as a foundation for dialog, programming, scholarship, and grant writing related to teacher preparation for urban schools. We have supported faculty and staff to secure more than 6.3 million dollars of federal and state funding for urban teacher recruitment, preparation, and professional development. Faculty and staff have developed several courses so that students can study about and learn in urban schools. We have also spearheaded a move to a clinically rich urban student teacher residency program (2012-2017).
