Dear SUNY Oswego Employees,

Earlier today, we received information directly from SUNY Chancellor James Malatras confirming that (per the updated New York State Department of Health COVID-19 Vaccine Program guidanceall in-person, essential staff at SUNY colleges and universities will now be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at any state or local health department-operated vaccine site effective March 17.

This expanded eligibility applies to all SUNY Oswego in-person “essential” employees whose work requires them to be on campus with limited or no opportunity to telecommute.  Previously, all in-person instructors and residence life staff with live-in and programming responsibilities were eligible to receive the vaccine.

SUNY Oswego continues to explore and request doses of the vaccine to administer on campus.  Until we are able to offer the vaccine on campus, we are recommending that interested, eligible employees visit the state’s “Am I Eligible” website to review a listing of available vaccination sites (e.g., State Fair Expo Center: NYS Fairgrounds) and to sign up.  Or call 1-833-697-4829 for information on getting appointments.

You may also visit the Oswego County Health Department website and/or the Onondaga County Health Department vaccine website to schedule appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations.  According to the Oswego County Health Department, links will be posted every Thursday around 10 a.m.

Be well and stay safe Oswego.
