Oswego Town and City Fire Departments are currently on campus responding to a small fire that ignited in Hewitt Union this morning. The minor fire, mainly consisting of smoke, has been contained and all students, staff and faculty have safely evacuated the building.

The fire was caused by a small spark igniting a saw dust collection device in an academic work space in the basement level of Hewitt. The fire departments will remain on site to ensure Hewitt is safe for students, staff and faculty to re-enter building.  It is anticipated that an "all clear" will occur within the hour.
