Dear Students,

As the semester continues today with distance education, I want to provide you with some information regarding certain campus resources and services in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, public health warning, and guidance provided by New York State and SUNY Administration.

  • Almost all academic spaces are currently not available for use. Students will not be able to access spaces such as labs, studios, practice rooms, etc. This will remain in effect until further notice, and we’ll be reassessing as more information becomes available.

  • Penfield Library is providing all of its services virtually with the building not being open. Please refer to the library website if you need any of their services. Those of you who need physical materials (books, Interlibrary Loan, reserved items, etc.), please see our guide on Penfield Library Services during the COVID-19 Crisis for information. The 24 Hour room will NOT be available.

  • SUNY Oswego has created a SUNY Oswego Online Student Portal to provide you with a range of resources regarding online and distance learning. Some of these resources are helpful hints and others are more technical information on the applications you may be using as you continue your education.

  • SHOP is open for pick-up only. If you need to access the food pantry submit a SHOP Pick-Up Form and staff will arrange a time for you. If you are an off-campus student and you are facing a hardship, please contact the Office of the Dean of Students at deanofstudents@oswego.edu.

  • The Office of Learning Services has online tutoring available through TutorTrac; please visit the OLS website and click on the “make an appointment” box. Students also have access to online tutoring through the STAR-NY-Network.

  • Counseling Services is still available remotely: Students with scheduled counseling or psychiatry appointments will receive appointment reminders and email instructions to access telecounseling and telepsychiatry. If you haven't received anything, email the office at csc@oswego.edu. Additionally, each counselor has called or will be calling their clients to check in. Please ensure that your phone can accept calls with "No Caller ID."

    • Counseling Services will also be hosting Zoom meetings to create discussion spaces for different groups. Please follow Counseling Services @mindful_oz on Instagram for information or click on our Events Calendar.
    • Walk in crisis has shifted to same-day call ahead appointments. Please call 315-312-4416 and listen to the message for more information.

Please know that we are here for you and encourage you to reach out to the Office of the Dean of Students if you have any questions or comments. And remember, please visit Oswego’s COVID-19 website daily to remain current of this very fluid situation.  Thank you and stay safe.
