Regardless of the weather conditions, please admire Lake Ontario from a distance.  Do not walk out onto the ice floes or break walls where the ice can be unpredictably thin, where footing is treacherous, the wind is strong,  the waves are overpowering, and the water is freezing.  Should someone venture too close to the lake when these conditions prevail, the results could be unfortunate and perhaps fatal.

With the freezing, thawing and refreezing, the ice on Glimmerglass Lagoon is also hazardous and should be avoided as well.

The safety of our students and all members of our campus community are first and foremost in our minds.  Thank you for your attention to this matter.
