Dear SUNY Oswego Students,

With the increasing spread of COVID-19, I am writing to let you know that we have changed our procedures for accessing care at Health Services.

COVID-19 is an infectious respiratory illness that can cause a range of symptoms such as shortness of breath, cough and fever. It can be more severe for some and lead to pneumonia or breathing difficulties.

Effective today, 3/12/2020, Health Services will shift from a walk-in clinic (0830-1030) to appointment only for ALL health needs to ensure the health and safety of all students who may be in the clinic. Appointments can be scheduled online through your patient portal or by calling Health Services at 315-312-4100, option 1. Students who have symptoms or think they may have been exposed should call Health Services at 315-312-4100, option 2.

All students will be required to complete travel screening questions at each visit prior to being seen. Students may want to consider postponing routine health care visits to avoid exposure to sick individuals.

If you have any questions regarding these new guidelines please call Health Services at 315-312-4100.

Please continue to exercise good personal health practices and take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of germs.

  • Stay home if you are sick,
  • wash your hands for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer prior to eating, when they are dirty or as needed,
  • Avoid touching your eyes, face or mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid contact with sick people
  • Keep your immune system healthy by eating properly, exercising and getting enough sleep.

Be well and be safe,

Angie Brown MSN, FNP-BC
Director of Student Health Services
