William Precht, a 1979 graduate and director of Coastal and Marine Sciences for Bio-Tech Consulting, gave the keynote for the 9 a.m. ceremony for the College of Liberal Arts, Sciences and Engineering where he also received an honorary doctorate from SUNY in recognition of his accomplishments and service.

Steven Messina –- a 1991 graduate and global head of the Finance Group at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLC –- provided the keynote for the 4 p.m. ceremony for the College of Communication, Media and the Arts and the College of Education, Health and Human Services. He also received an honorary doctorate from SUNY for his accomplishments and service.

The Commencement Eve Reception featured Jamal Akin-Tukur receiving the Outstanding Senior Award, presented during the ceremony for the graduating seniors and their families in the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall. Presenting the award is Laura Pavlus Kelly, a 2009 graduate who is executive director of the Oswego Alumni Association and director of alumni engagement.
