A world-class ensemble with performances reaching more than 75,000 audience members each year nationally and internationally, the group expresses the beauty of the human spirit through the voice of the taiko in a vibrant art form that strives to connect people through cultural understanding, creative expression and rhythmic heartbeat. The university’s popular Alumni Sharing Knowledge (ASK) is a program where alumni visit classes and talk about their current professional fields, typically from the perspective of their former academic fields of study. Hundreds of future Lakers and their families attended SUNY Oswego's first Admitted Student Day on March 23 for tours, networking, information sessions and more opportunities to get to know the university. All told, 576 people attended the first program. Two more Admitted Student Days will take place April 12 and 13, ideally with more springlike weather than the snowy Saturday that hosted the first installment.

SUNY Oswego students, from left, Paul Lomanto, Norun Tabassum and Angela Aldatz, will help meet an initiative to increase FAFSA (Financial Aid Free Student Application) completion rates, thanks to support from SUNY and AmeriCorps. The students will help fellow Lakers, high school students and families apply for financial aid that, in previous years, has gone unclaimed by too many people.
