Emily Colledge, the first student to graduate from SUNY Oswego's Advancing Completion through Engagement (ACE) program, receives congratulations from Jordan Pritchard, director of Oswego's ACE program, and President Peter O. Nwosu at December Commencement. Colledge transferred in with an associate's degree from Onondaga Community College and put in the work to graduate early with a bachelor's in psychology. Sponsored by SUNY, ACE provides a range of financial, academic and personal support, including intensive academic advisement and career counseling, priority registration, as well as monthly stipend assistance.

The Oswego State women’s hockey community came together Nov. 14 and 15 for a weekend that blended competition, nostalgia and legacy. More than 50 former players and family returned to campus for a reunion to celebrate 20 years since the relaunch of the NCAA program at Oswego. Former players spanning decades laced up once again as the program hosted its alumnae game Nov. 15 in Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall in the Marano Campus Center.
Oswego State’s Intercollegiate Athletics honored one of the program's pioneer players, its first All-American and 1972 Olympic silver medalist goaltender Gordon "Pete" Sears ’71 by retiring his jersey No. 1 and raising it to the rafters of the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall at the Marano Campus Center on Nov. 15. The Laker men's ice hockey team punctuated the historic celebration by securing a 3-1 win over Skidmore that evening. The success of the Laker program continues the efforts of early players like Sears who laced up their skates when the program began more than 60 years ago.
The Music Department's end-of-semester Wind Ensemble concert directed by Robert Auler featured a variety of pop and classic musical compositions as well as performances from additional student ensembles such as the Clarinet Quartet and the Oswego Brass Project. The Dec. 2 concert was held in the Hewitt Hall ballroom.
The annual winter College-Community Orchestra Concert, directed by music faculty member Trevor Jorgensen, entertained a wide-ranging audience on Dec. 3 in Hewitt Hall ballroom.
The Music Department's popular annual Choirs Holiday Concert, directed by Ben May with Rebecca Horning and Laura Washburn on piano, featured performances by The Laker Chorale, Oswego State Singers, Combined Tenors and Basses and the Oswego Festival Chorus. The opening reception for the Fall 2025 Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Exhibition was held Dec. 5, a show of artworks which ran Dec. 2 through 12 in Tyler Art Gallery. Art work by 15 graduating BFA students included that of graduating senior Jamie Biggers, showing with her parents her works in a variety of media at the exhibition.
The SUNY Oswego State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign's most popular fundraiser invited the campus community to buy chances for the Baskets of Caring raffle of creative items held Nov. 19 and 20 in the Marano Campus Center concourse.
