Are you interested in saving your students money? Have you ever wished your students had access to their texts on the first day of class? Do you ever wish you had greater flexibility to choose and adapt materials for your courses without violating copyright? Do you ever feel like there's a huge gap in the educational materials available in your field and you want to help fill that void?

Open educational resources (OERs) might be for you.

The NY State Legislature has allocated $4 million to SUNY to encourage the development and adoption of open educational resources. CELT, Extended Learning, Penfield Library, & CTS will be offering a second round of grants to faculty and staff interested in adopting, adapting, or creating OERs.

Applications are due November 17, 2017. Application guidelines and more information about OERs are available here

We would also like to recognize our first round of grant recipients for their hard work and creativity:

  • Mya Brown, Theatre
  • Elizabeth Bishop, English
  • Brian Moritz, Journalism
  • Lisa Seppi, Art History
  • Jessica Reeher, Communications
