Why did you want to study abroad, and where did you choose to go?

I was always curious about studying abroad since I was kid. Hearing and learning about places around the world honestly made me want to travel more. I ended up deciding to go to Australia. A place I wanted to go since I was a kid.

Describe your campus and what student life was like.
I wasn’t on campus much besides the 1 class I took. However, it was big and there were places you could study and people were really nice. I did something a bit unique where I was both a student and an intern while I study abroad so my experience is a tad different than most.

Was there a language barrier? And if so, how were you able to get through it?
There wasn’t really a language barrier as they do speak English in Australia.

What did you find most challenging throughout your experience?
I would say the most challenging thing was figuring out what you wanted to do in your free time. I was only there for the summer and I wanted to try everything. From going to Sydney Opera house. To trying all different kinds of food and do a bit of traveling while being there, but also coordinating that with other people.

Overall, how was your experience? And do you have any tips for future students who may be interested in traveling to the same place as you?
Overall my experience was amazing and unforgettable.  If I could go back and do it all over again I would. I would probably try to do it earlier in my collegiate career so I could possibly visit different places! The best tips I could offer are apply for those scholarships and don’t be afraid to try something out of your comfort zone.
