The School of Education serves the needs of candidates through its excellent programs. The various departments in the School of Education also provide timely advisement services to candidates as they move through their required courses and field experiences.

About the School of Education

The School of Education at SUNY Oswego was established in 1861 by Edward Austin Sheldon. He promoted a method of hands-on learning that became the pedagogical foundation for what is now technology education and other programs at SUNY Oswego that emphasize authentic learning and field experiences, including childhood, adolescence and career and technical teacher preparation.
