Mac OS X 10.4, 10.5 Pharos Printing Installers

Below are the instructions for configuring your personal computer to print to a selection of campus printers using the Pharos printing system. You may print to these from anywhere on-campus, including the wireless network.

Instructions:
NOTE: Snow Leopard, version 10.6 of the operating system, is not currently compatible with the personal printing system at this time.

  1. Download and install the Pharos Notify Client prior to installing printers.
    1. At the end of the installation of the client, the Notify Setup Assistant will launch and open a "Server Address" window. Enter the following values:
      1. For "Server Address" enter "pharos-srv" without the quotes.
      2. For "Server Port" leave the default value of 2355
      3. For "Server Timeout (s)" leave the default value of 30
    2. Click "Continue"
    3. You will then see the "Enable Notify" window. This lets you know that client has been configured and enabled. Click "Continue."
    4. Close out of the installation window.
  2. You are now ready to install your desired printers from the following list.
