Kyle is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and certified Child-Centered Play Therapist (CCPT). He coordinates the Counseling Outreach Peer Educators (COPE) team, a group of undergraduate students who are passionate about mental health and supporting other students. You will see him and the team around campus tabling, running programs and workshops, and attending club and organization meetings!
He previously worked with individuals, families, groups, and people of all ages in Oswego at a mental health private practice for 9 years and joined the Counseling Center in 2019. He previously taught in the English and Counseling and Psychological Services departments at SUNY Oswego starting in 2011. He enjoys working on collaborative, creative, and community-driven projects, and enjoys offering therapy that involves expressive arts techniques, including art, music, clay, writing, and storytelling. He also truly believes in the healing power of walking outdoors, sitting by water, listening to music, and practicing yoga and mindfulness.
Outside of work, Kyle is constantly creating music, making watercolors, doing photography/videography, and playing Pokemon Go (Yes, still.). He is a proud RavenPuff, dog dad, and loves learning about spiritualities, mutual aid programs, and challenging himself to find new and fresh perspectives about the world.
