New students with beanies picking up information

Then: For many years, the newest students wore freshmen beanies as they started their studies at Oswego, as shown in this photo from the early 1960s. These green hats with gold lettering allowed current students, faculty and staff to know who may need help in negotiating the campus terrain ... especially at a time many students were the first in their families to go to college.

Now: The beanies are long gone, and Oswego offers Orientation over summer to help incoming students learn more about their new home. But the campus community -- including alumni around the world -- are invited to sport school colors for today's Green and Gold Day. See for details.
