My Hometown: Banner Exhibition
June 23, 2017 - August 23, 2017
Reception June 30, 2017 5:30-7:30PM

The “My Hometown” Banner Project provides public space for the display of creative expressions by students studying visual art in Oswego City Schools. We see these acts of expression as helping to form a picture of life in our vibrant and creative community. Our goal is to place this work in various exhibitions and on banners around the City of Oswego. This exhibition highlights the overall project and reveals the artists chosen to have their work displayed on banners.

David Owens: Illustration and Collaboration

September 1 - October 27, 2017
Reception: Friday, September 1, 5 - 7pm
Downtown Artist Series Presentations: 6pm
Poet: Brittney Castagna
Designer: Rebecca Smith

David Owens is a professional art director, freelance illustrator and SUNY Oswego alum. His design focuses on illustration, publication design, and branding. He has art directed for dozens of universities, national clients, and international retailers including Deloitte, Syracuse University, American Food and Vending, HORZE Equestrian, and SUNY Oswego. His editorial illustrations have appeared in publications across the country. David is now the art director for Oswego County Tourism, where he manages the County brand, publications, and always prefers illustrations when developing new ad campaigns.

The Downtown Artists Series is an opportunity for student poets, artists and musicians to reflect upon and react to the work on exhibit. New poems, music, and art will be created as one artist considers the work of another. These new collaborative works will be presented at the opening of each exhibition at Tyler ArtGallery @ Oswego State Downtown.

This series is sponsored by SCMA, Dean Julie
