Our theatre program lets you learn by doing to prepare you for positions within and outside of the industry — including acting, directing, sound, lighting, makeup, costuming and more.

Our program investigates our complex culture from perspectives that include history, political institutions, literature and art. With guidance from your faculty adviser, you can tailor the program to your interests.

The Theatre Department produces three to four productions during the academic year. This varied repertory includes classical plays, contemporary works, musical productions, devised works, and student-driven, fully supported directing projects. Some of our more recent productions have included Clybourne ParkBoeing-Boeing (student honors production), Urinetown, and Not Someone Like Me (staged reading).

Outstanding facilities and equipment include a 426-seat proscenium theatre with state-of-the-art capabilities, a flexible 120-seat black-box theatre, well-equipped shops, extensive computer applications and continually upgraded technical systems.
