Dear Members of the SUNY Oswego Community,

Earlier today, the State University of New York Board of Trustees announced the appointment of Dr. John B. King Jr. as the 15th chancellor of SUNY.  Per the news release issued below, Dr. King will begin his new role as chancellor in January 2023, replacing former SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley, who has been serving as interim chancellor since January 2022.

Dr. King brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this significant statewide role and we look forward to working with him to advance SUNY and public higher education throughout the great state of New York. SUNY Oswego congratulates Dr. King and thanks Interim Chancellor Stanley for her leadership and service.

We will keep the SUNY Oswego community informed as this leadership transition progresses and additional information becomes available.
