The Office of the President
October 10, 2022

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,

This past summer, I enthusiastically signed the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge's Presidential Commitment confirming SUNY Oswego's commitment to striving toward full student voter participation. I am confident in our university, and ask that you join me in this pledge to vote and participate in this civic responsibility.

It is hard to believe the November 2022 election is around the corner. It is important to point out that before anyone can vote, you must be registered to vote. The deadline to register for the November election is this Friday, October 14, 2022 at 5 p.m.

Please take five minutes to check your registration status or register to vote at the Vote Oswego TurboVote website.

Do you need an absentee ballot?

If you will be outside the county where you are registered to vote, and therefore unable to make it to your assigned polling location on Election Day, you can use New York State’s Board of Elections online request to request an absentee ballot. If you still need to register, and would also like to request an absentee ballot, please visit TurboVote to register to vote and then follow the instructions to “make a plan to vote by mail.”

Vote Oswego will have tables set up in Penfield Library this week (Oct. 12-14) to answer questions, help guide you through the process and mail any completed forms for you.

I hope you will join me, your fellow Lakers and the Vote Oswego team in this important effort. Let’s make SUNY Oswego a campus that takes the Pledge to Vote and stands tall as active and informed members of our democracy.

Sincerely,

Mary C. Toale, Ed.D.
Officer in Charge
