The Office of the President
September 15, 2022

Dear SUNY Oswego Students,

I hope your semester is going well and you are finding positive ways to engage in the SUNY Oswego community. The beginning of the academic year arrives with excitement, new classes, and sometimes with student behavior that is detrimental to the learning environment we strive to uphold. Whether you live off campus or in our residence halls, it is important to remember that as a member of the SUNY Oswego community, you are also a member of the surrounding community.

Your behavior reflects on our campus community. While the majority of our students are engaging respectfully and in positive ways, it is important to  remember to apply what is written in this year’s Student Handbook, “It is incumbent upon all of us to engage in the community in meaningful and respectful ways as we continue to be a place that allows each of us to thrive, grow and develop greater and deeper understanding of one another.”

We want you to enjoy all aspects of your SUNY Oswego experience and also expect you to abide by the Student Code of Conduct. Your actions matter.

Please be safe, have fun, and remember that you are a part of an institution that is committed to being respectful of all and a good neighbor on campus and in the community.

Regards,

Mary C. Toale, Ed.D.
Officer in Charge
