New Student Housing Instructions

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING THE New Student Housing Application

Before logging in to myHousing to submit your New Student Housing Application, explore our varied housing options at Residential Communities.

Please Note: If you are majoring in science, math, or education with a science or math concentrate you may want to consider the free Math Success Camp program that runs the week before fall classes start. For more information, go to Math Success Camp 2017. New info coming soon.

Please consider ranking the following residence halls as your preferred halls: Funnelle, Seneca, Cayuga, Hart, or Johnson. Living with other math camp attendees will help you build community throughout the program and the fall semester. Please note Johnson and Hart have program requirements associated with them. Complete your application by following these steps:

  1. Login to myHousing.oswego.edu using your Laker NetID and password.
  2. Click “Applications” at the top of the page and choose “New Student Housing Application” from the dropdown menu.
  3. Accept the terms of the Room and Board Agreement by reading the information and following the instructions on the right side of the page. This information is CRITICAL. If you do not agree to the terms of the agreement, click the link provided to exit the application.
  4. After following the instructions, including signing your name in the box provided, click “Continue” toward the bottom of the page.
  5. Respond to the required Personal Information questions. It is crucial that you respond truthfully, as your responses will be used to make your room and roommate (if applicable) assignments. Click “Continue” toward the bottom of the page.
  6. Submit up to 10 rank-ordered Living Requests
    • To submit the Living Request that is most important to you,
      • Select “1” from the dropdown menu beside “Choice #.”
      • Select the most important “Request Type” from the dropdown menu. The options are “Hall” and “Quiet Section”. If being assigned to a specific residence hall is most important to you, select “Hall”.
      • Select the Residence Hall/Quiet Section you would most like to live in from the dropdown menu that appears.
  7. Click “Add Request” to see the Living Request you just added.
    • Click “Continue.”
    • Submit additional Living Requests in order of their importance to you by repeating the steps above. When you are finished adding requests, click “Continue.”
  8. When you are finished adding Living Requests, sign out of myHousing to submit your application:
    • Click the home button at the top of the page and
    • Click “sign out.”
