The Residence Life and Housing License, Resident Student Handbook and other departmental publications are written, edited and reviewed with the intent of being clear, concise, and stated in common and everyday language. They contain the specific policies and procedures of SUNY Oswego that delineate rights and responsibilities as well as the student conduct system and administrative review and appeals process used to enforce them.

All current students may participate in the Room Selection Process starting in the spring semester. This online process allows students to reserve their residence for the upcoming academic year. To learn more about the Room Selection Process, visit the Current Student Housing page. All current first year students are required to live on-campus for next year. Please refer to the University Housing Policy for details. SUNY Oswego students must adhere to this policy. |

The New Student Housing Process is for incoming first year, transfer and graduate students. To learn more about New Student Housing and the Application Process, visit the New Student Housing page. The New Student Housing Application is available starting March 1st for fall semester and November 1st for spring semester at myhousing.oswego.edu. |

Meal Plan Rates (Auxiliary Services) |
Academic year room rates are based on the date of matriculation into a degree program in accordance with the “Oswego Guarantee.” Each student’s rate is further broken down by room and/or occupancy type; the specific hall does not influence room rates. |
Be sure to review the Early Arrival Agreement before submitting your request, as residents who receive approval are responsible for abiding by the protocols stated in this document. For early arrival accommodations, please send a request to reslife@oswego.edu at minimum three days before your desired early arrival date. For late stay accomodations, please send a request to reslife@oswego.edu at minimum three days before the close of the residence halls. |

Living Learning Community Agreement

Students requesting to be a part of a Living Learning Community must agree to certain participation expectations. Students may request a room in a Living Learning Community on their housing application and will be assigned if space is available. |

SUNY Oswego Residence Life and Housing's Housing and Dining License.The Residence Life and Housing License outlines contractual items for living on campus, including Meal Plan choices. It is signed by students who wish to reserve a residence hall room or Village townhouse room, and serves as a contract between the College and each resident student. |

Single Room Agreement (PDF) |
Students requesting a single room must agree to and comply with the Single Room Agreement including the cost of a single room. Students may request a single room on their housing application and will be assigned if space is available. See Room Rates for cost of Single Occupancy. |
Policies
All SUNY Oswego students must adhere to the University Housing Policy and Rules Governing Residential Facilities. Some students may be exempted from the University Housing Policy. Read this policy carefully before applying to SUNY Oswego. |

Students seeking specific housing consideration due to disability or medical necessity may request medical housing accommodations through Accessibility Resources. Any person signing/accepting the terms of the Housing and Dining License is required to comply with all College and Residence Life and Housing rules, regulations, and policies as stipulated herein and in the current Student Handbook, Resident Student Handbook, The Village Resident Handbook, and The Oswego Forward website. Read the Rules Governing Residential Facilities to review all policies. |

Residents will be held responsible for any deterioration in the condition of their assigned room/suite/townhouse (including both sides of doors), its assigned furnishings, assigned bulletin board (as applicable) and for any loss or damage other than normal wear that may occur during their occupancy. Students may occupy their rooms according to the schedule published by the Department of Residence Life and Housing. Please read the Use of Residential Facilities to review the full policy. |

The Assistant Vice President for Residence Life and Housing, or designee, reserves the right to reassign residents, maintain rooms at their assigned occupancy by filling vacancies, and adjust the occupancy of rooms. Read Vacancies and Room Changes to review the full policy. |

If you have signed the Housing and Dining License but subsequently wish to be released from the contract to move off-campus, read the instructions on this page carefully to submit a Release from Housing License through myhousing.oswego.edu. Unless you receive approval of this request, your student status requires compliance with the University Housing Policy. The decision to approve or deny a Release from Housing License will be based upon the sufficiency of the written explanation and supporting documentation you provide. |
