College letterhead

College letterhead may be ordered through the Mailroom′s stores catalog and may be used for any correspondence. This letterhead is printed in hunter green on 25% cotton watermarked 20lb. bond. Suggested margins for text on college or department letterhead are no less than 2 inches on top, 1.5 inches on the left, 0.75 inches on the right and 1 inch on the bottom. Do not create your own letterhead.

Custom department letterhead

Letterhead may be custom offset printed with department and division names. Individual faculty and staff names are not permitted on letterhead.
Some units at SUNY Oswego may incorporate special information (e.g., funding source, advisory committee members or affirmative action statement) into their letterhead. This information — logo or text — must appear at the bottom of the first page. All requests to incorporate special information must be approved in advance by the Graphic Standards Review Panel.

New orders

Departments may order letterhead from the Office of Publications on house stock (60lb. offset or 24lb. bond) or furnish paper for printing. For new orders, contact the Office of Publications via phone at 315.312.3130. Design and customer approval of new department letterhead typically takes two weeks. Printing requires two weeks from customer approval on orders under 10,000 sheets. Orders over 10,000 sheets may require additional time.


To request a reprint of existing letterhead campus mail a sample with your request to the Office of Publications. Reprints under 10,000 sheets require two weeks from receipt of order. Orders over 10,000 sheets may require additional time.

As perhaps our most widespread means of communication, SUNY Oswego stationery must present a unified vision for SUNY Oswego. Graphic identity standards have been implemented to create a consistent look for letterhead, envelopes and business cards. Letterhead should be printed on white or cream paper with hunter green or black ink.
