Research

Samara Rice is a quantitative psychologist whose research focuses on instrument development and the application of advanced latent variable models for understanding mechanisms of changing problematic health behaviors. Current projects are the psychometric evaluation of a measure of ambivalence about drinking less alcohol for treatment-seeking non-college adults or at-risk drinking college students, development of a brief screener for intimate partner violence perpetration, and understanding college students’ perceived problematic health behaviors.
