Dr. Blanchard received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He teaches classes in global politics and has research interests in international security, U.S. foreign policy, Chinese politics and East Asian security, International Relations theory, critical qualitative methodologies, and gender and world politics. His work has appeared in International Studies QuarterlySignsReview of International StudiesJournal of International Relations and Development, and the Brown Journal of World Affairs.
