I am an Assistant Professor at the Physics Department at SUNY Oswego. The focus of my research is highly magnetized and quickly rotating neutron stars which are referred to as pulsars. Some of these stars emit their emission with a precision that exceeds the one of atomic clocks here on Earth. Being interested in how they generate their emission (how they shine) I am studying pulsars throughout large parts of the electromagnetic spectrum from radio wavelengths up to gamma-rays.  As an observational astronomer I use data taken with various telescopes which are ground- as well as space-based. I am a member of the NANOGrav as well as NICER Collaboration. As such I primarily work with radio, X-ray and gamma-ray data of pulsars.  If you want to learn more about both collaborations, feel free to look at the following links, or contact me by email:

One of my other passions is also educational outreach. As a postdoctoral fellow I became the project director for the Pulsar Science Collaboratory (PSC) which is an educational outreach project that gives middle and high school students at US schools the possibility to gain research experience by searching for new pulsars in radio data taken with the Green Bank Telescope. They learn with online workshops how to analyze that kind of data and actively contribute to the search for new millisecond pulsars that are used for the search for gravitational waves.
