Work for NSO

WHO ARE THE ORIENTATION STUDENT STAFF?

The Orientation Student Staff are a team with a variety of responsibilities and titles. They are integral to the success of our Orientation programs and serve as the backbone of the student and guest experience while participating in Orientation. The students on our team have a myriad of experiences, backgrounds, majors, interests, passions, and hobbies - but they all share one thing in common: they love SUNY Oswego and want to share their excitement for our college with new, incoming students!

  • Laker Leaders work directly with new students. They facilitate the small group experience, lead ice breakers, perform in the Life on Campus skits, and more!
  • Orientation Program Assistants support many facets of Orientation, and pay special attention to the families and guests that attend Orientation with their student.
  • Office Staff play an integral behind-the-scenes role of Orientation; they make up our Customer Service team and help new students complete their requirements necessary before starting college.
  • Mobility Accommodations Drivers are new to our team in 2018. These per diem employees assist us in getting our students and guests around campus who may be in need of additional support.

All of our positions are rewarding, valued, and paid experiences. Many of our students find their time in Orientation to be when they grew the most both personally and professionally.
